THE STORY
Campari Sbagliato
AKA The Wrong Negroni
The Negroni Sbagliato was born in Milan in 1971 on a busy night at Bar Basso. The owner Mirko Stocchetto was about to mix a classic Negroni for a regular client, but following the Campari and vermouth he accidentally reached out for a bottle of sparkling wine instead of the usual gin. The customer tried the new recipe, as did Mirko, and it was love at first sip. And so the Negroni Sbagliato, as in ‘the wrong’ Negroni, was born.
